Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2021 6th Generation Laptop Review: Lenovo introduces 11th Gen Intel CPUs and a few minor but appreciative improvements to the ThinkPad X1 Yoga. ThinkPad X1 Yoga from Lenovo modifies the recipe sufficiently to maintain its place as one of the finest business laptops for 2 in 1 to purchase (much) money.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6 of Lenovo is a refined 2-in-1 portfolio for corporate users. With the X1 Carbon page, a more vertical display of 14-inch is now available with a 16:10 aspect ratio – a benefit for corporate customers. A larger touchpad and a human presence detection sensor are also an improvement of productivity for easier login and increased safety.

Replacing the 11th Gen Intel CPUs to an engine will make it much quicker, but it is much more appealing to increase the battery life. The Gen 6 model takes over 15 hours for a recharge. They are packed in a compact aluminum casing with a comfortable 2-in-1 layout and a convenient style slot. It may not be as light as the ThinkPad X1 Carbon or as fascinating like the ThinkPad X1, but it might only be the trio’s best overall package for the ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga price and configurations

At the time of posting, I would not buy Lenovo’s X1 Yoga. When I utilised Lenovo.com to construct our checking unit, it cost $3,345 for an FHD+, Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD model. For this model, we have to work on the FHD+ display. The B&H Photo Video and the Walmart edition costs $2,339.

In reference, the year before, we tested the Gen 5 edition, which cost $2,100 and included a Core i7-10610U CPU, a RAM 16GB, 512GB SSD and a 14-inch, 4K display.

If you want some money to save I’m not sure you would criticize it for. The basic setup costs $1.300 and includes an FHD+ monitor, an Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, RAM 8GB and a 256GB SSD. For another $305, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD may be had.

If you don’t have a budget, a Core i7-1185G7 CpU, a 16GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD may be had for a 4K (UHD+) version of $3,979. You can purchase virtually a non-workstation laptop on the market at that price. It should be mentioned.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga design

The X1 Yoga Gen 6 gives an advantage over its predecessor with subtle cosmetic modifications.

The most evident and my favourite keyboard was to replace the black one that matched Storm Grey’s chassis. It provides the laptop a more unified aesthetic. Which contributes to the design’s elegance. Lenovo also strives to produce a bigger bolder ThinkPad X1 logo on the deck and deck of X1 Carbon appeal to users. Brash branding is not always acceptable but adds flare to a usual design in this situation.

The X1 Yoga keeps the chassis made of aluminium from black carbon fibre that is still in the X1 Carbon some years before. The cold metal seems quality and strong, but I prefer the conventional magnesium/carbon material ThinkPad, because aluminium is heavier, with no soft touch finish.

A power button with a tiny LED indication and an integrated fingerprint scanner is moved from side to deck. The revised positioning makes access easier and the chance to wake yoga in a bag or a briefcase unintentionally decreased. On the other hand, with the power button on your side, you may wake up and shut off your X1 Yoga by closing your lid

A unique speaker grille on either side of the deck will replace the individual speaker bar on the previous generation. A distinct fingerprint scanner is no longer on the palm rest since the biometric sensor has been moved to the new energy button. One of the most convenient things is to store and recharge the stylus garage on the right side of the laptop. The Laptop Mag team emphasised this as a method to enhance laptops with 2-in-1 capabilities – why I haven’t seen widespread acceptance up to now.

The twin hinges seem strong, yet when this 2-in-1 laptop is converted, they spin effortlessly in tent or tablet form. The X1 Yoga is 12,3 x 8,8 x 0,6 inches and 3 pounds higher than that of ThinkPad X1 Carbound (12,7 x 8,5 x 0,4 pound, 2.8 pound), Dell Latitude 9420 2-in-1 (12,2 x 8,5 x 0,5 inches, 2,8 pound) and HP EliteBook 1040 G7, making them easier to transform from the frame, trying to make them higher compatible with palm-shelled laptops. The X1 Yoga has a 12,7 x 8,8 x 8,5 x 3,5 cm higher (12.6 x 8 x 0.7 inches, 2.9 pounds).

The safety and durability of Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga

All safety and durable boxes are controlled by X1 Yoga. Biometric login options have included a power button integrated fingerprint scanner and a face recognition configurable IR camera through Windows Hello. Strengthening the function is a human detector that awakens your display near to the laptop. We had no IR camera in our device, so that we were unable to test the function on the X1 Yoga, although the prior model was working properly.

TPM 2.0, a chip that has gained much attention as a Windows 11 requirement, also provides hardware-based security.

The X1 Yoga is as long lasting as it is safe. A dozen MIL-STD-810G tests have been carried out, which means that harsh circumstances such as excessive dampness, sand and dust exposure and mechanical shock may be withstood.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga ports

This newest version of X1 Yoga continues with a few port tweaks. There are two ports on the left hand side, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Type A and HDMI 2.0. The proprietary network extension connection in earlier generations is not present.

A additional USB 3.2 Type-A, an audio jack and a lock slot are found on the right hand side. This is a vast range of I/O; the one and only thing I can do is to have the USB-C ports on the same side so that you can only charge from the left.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga display

The larger 14-inch, 1920 x 1200-pixel IPS screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio will start with the X1 Yoga Gen 6, which is ripping a page of the Thinkpad X1 carboon. We have tried the FHD+ screen, however the lightning of the 4K panel should be taken into consideration by people who demand the absolute finest image quality.

Go for the basic screen if you value the battery life – you will have a nice picture quality to go with more hours of running. I liked to see as much as it painted me seeing my nation losing as the quarterfinales of Germany versus England Euro 2020. The board was crisp enough to trace the ball and against the black-and-white chain jersey the bright boots worn by the players on the field stood. At best, the matt display was dampening light sources, so I did not have to see beyond my own reflection.

It was a two minute thrill journey to see the trailer on the ThinkPad X1 Yoga for Snake Eyes. At the beginning of the movie the display followed the frantic battle scene

This is a situation when our colorimeter findings are not matched by the eye test. We found that 71 per cent of the DCI-P3 range could be covered by the screen – a nice result but less than I anticipated. The EliteBook x360% 1040 (76%), Latitude 9410 2-in-1 (89%) and X1 carbon are less vivid than the board (72 percent ). On a luxury laptop, the median panel (84%) is coloured brighter.

X1 Yoga has good luminosity, reaching to a 351-nit peak. That was about the EliteBook x360 1040 and the X1 Carbon (364 nits), however the latitude 9420 was 2-in-1 and luxury laptop median. It’s about 454 nits and 344 nits (389 nits).
